ROB BELL will introduce his new book, What Is The Bible? How an Ancient Library of Poems, Letters, and Stories Can Transform the Way You Think and Feel About Everything, on Thursday, June 1 at 7 pm.
(Line numbers will be given out beginning at 6 pm. Please show your books&co receipt for What Is The Bible to get a line number.)
Bell encourages readers to take a deep dive into Christianity’s ancient book and see how it is much more revelatory, revolutionary, and relevant than we ever imagined –-and explains why we need to encounter it afresh. He views the Bible not as a singular text stemming from one point of view. Instead, he considers it a library – a complex and multifaceted collection of poems, letters, and stories compiled over 1500 years by over 40 contributors.
He looks at it as a complication written, assembled, and edited by people living in different times, functioning under different circumstances, and possessing differing opinions and agendas.
Rob Bell is the New York Times bestselling author of Love Wins, What We Talk About When We Talk About God, The Zimzum of Love, and How to Be Here. Time magazine has named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and iTunes named his podcast, The RobCast, Best of 2015.
He’s toured with Oprah on her Life You Want Tour. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three children. You can learn more about him at

LISA JEWELL is coming from the UK on her first US tour and will be visiting books&co. at The Greene, 4453 Walnut Street, Beavercreek on Sunday, June 4 at 2 pm to introduce her new domestic thriller, I Found You.
If you have enjoyed reading Paula Hawkins and Carla Buckley, you’ll find plenty to like about Lisa’s work. In I Found You, we meet Alice Lake, who discovers a disoriented man sitting in the rain on the beach. He has no idea who he is or where is or what he is doing on this British seaside beach.
Despite a warning siren screaming in her head, Alice invites him into her home to warm up anyway. And thus begins a mystifying journey filled with gripping characters and dark truths.
As a long-time UK bestselling author of 12 novels, Lisa is finding a steady following of ravenous readers in the United States. We encourage you to come see what all the excitement is about!
JoJo Moyes, author of Me Before You, said…”I’ve never read a book by Lisa that I didn’t love…I ended up reading the whole thing in a day.”

MARC ELSBERG will visit books&co at The Greene, 4453 Walnut Street, Beavercreek on Monday, June 5 at 7 pm to introduce his debut novel, Blackout. This novel has already sold 1.8 million copies worldwide and been translated into many languages. It powerfully illustrates modern society’s interdependencies and vulnerability, dramatizing the consequences of a week-long blackout caused by a hacker attack against European and US power grids.
Elsberg writes that on a cold February day the lights go out in Italy. Soon it’s not only there, but in Sweden, then Germany, then France, Austria, Belgium and Holland, and eventually in America and beyond. The consequences of this massive blackout are deadly – no electricity means no water, no refrigeration, no traffic lights, no working hospital equipment, no anything! The market is plummeting, nothing seems to be working, and several nuclear power plants are in critical condition.
When the lights go out across Europe, a former hacker and activist must find his way to safety in the darkness, and, in tandem with a U.S. reporter, halt the attack before the entire continent falls apart.
Blackout is a breathlessly exciting piece of fiction and terrifyingly plausible vision of what could happen that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.
